All of our courses are defined by meeting skill Standards set forth by the National Fire Protection Agency 1670 and 1006. Our courses are also CSFM (California State Fire Marshal) Certified, taught by Certified Instructors, who are bound to teach by curriculum set by the SFM. Thus, the knowledge you gain here is standardized through out California and Nationwide. In most cases this standardization is the adopted methods of skill performance by all emergency Service Branches. So what you are taught with us, meets and exceeds the same level of training to what everyone else is learning the same way.
For River and Flood Rescue Ops, this is a 3-day NFPA certified course mainly for those wishing to make shore based rescue efforts only. For the CSFM River Tech, this is a 5-day “Technician Level” California State Fire Marshal Certified course, preparing the student to make in-water victim and IRB rescues, also the prerequisite for CSFM Boat Operator courses. For Rope rescue: RRAO is Level I of the new two course CSFM rope rescue series, teaching introductory to intermediate rope rescue skill for unattended litter victim transport. RRT is Level II for intermediate to advanced rope rescue skills, teaching the rescuer for attended litter victim transport and highline systems.
The industry standard is 3 years from course completion. For agency consideration, you may also stay current by your Agency Having Jurisdictional Authority (AHJA), if you have documentation of routine agency team training within that rescue discipline showing proof of your training skill performance.
